England fans are set to travel to the MetLife Stadium for the Three Lions' 2026 FIFA World Cup group game against Panama, and they have been warned that they are banned from walking to the stadium under state law.
The warning follows controversial news that supporters will be charged over $100 (£75) to travel to World Cup matches held at the MetLife Stadium throughout the course of the tournament.

The MetLife Stadium is completely shut off to pedestrians, with the ground located around 12 miles from New York City and entirely surrounded by car parks and highways.
Consequently, the only means of transport to the stadium is via car, bus or by purchasing the extremely expensive tickets for the train service from New York's Penn Station.
Plans have emerged for train tickets from Penn Station to the MetLife Stadium to cost upwards of $100 (£75), significantly higher than the standard price of $12.90 (£9.50) for NFL matches, leading to many considering making their own way to the ground.
However, fans have been warned that walking to the ground is strictly prohibited under New Jersey state law, which states that it is unlawful for members of the public to walk on or beside highways.
Charles Marchan, a New Jersey State Police spokesman, told North Jersey that this is to help ensure public safety, as “walking on these roadways creates a significant safety hazard for both pedestrians and motorists.”
FGG Says: Fans forced to pay extortionate transport prices
Unfortunately for fans visiting the MetLife Stadium, including those England supporters set to watch the clash against Panama, they will be forced to pay the extortionate prices for transport via either train or bus to the ground, or arrange their own transport via car.
Walking to the ground has become a big part of building the atmosphere ahead of matches at other tournaments, but that will not be the case this time around – marking yet another negative for the fans at the upcoming World Cup.
