New footage has been released of the ongoing works at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground home, ahead of an increase in capacity.

The venue in North Wales is set to be fitted with a new Kop stand, bringing the capacity above 18,000 supporters.

Wrexham have enjoyed an upwards trajectory under the American ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

New footage showcases Kop stand works

For the first part of this season, highlights of matches from the Racecourse Ground have shown an empty area behind one of the goals.

However, in a Youtube video uploaded by Wrexham AFC Fanzone, the next step of works on the new Kop stand are progressing.

McLaren construction are in charge of the project, looking to bring another part of Wrexham's stadium into the modern day.

Appetite for more at the Racecourse

Bringing the capacity over 18,000 and into UEFA regulations, the Racecourse Ground would be able to realise one of its ambitions.

Focusing away from Wrexham for the moment, it is understood that the aim is for international matches – namely Wales games – to be played at the venue.

The Red Dragons are currently plying their trade exclusively at the Cardiff City Stadium, with the North of the country starved of seeing their national team in the flesh.

FGG says: Taking the next step

With ambitions of reaching the Premier League in the near future, it is of the utmost importance that Wrexham upgrade their current home.

Coming from the National League to the Championship in the space of three years, there were bound to be growing pains and improvements to be made.
