Bayern Munich step into the 2020-21 campaign as the champions for the eighth season in succession. This incredible run began in the 2012-13 campaign and Hans-Dieter Flick became the latest coach to enjoy title success with the giants. It is difficult to see any other team challenging Bayern for the honours, as Die Roten have gone ahead and strengthened the squad even further with the signing of Leroy Sane. Following the end of the loan spells, Álvaro Odriozola and Philippe Coutinho have left the club. It is unlikely to be a major problem for Flick.

Borussia Dortmund are the only team who are capable of challenging Bayern and they have so far been able to retain Jadon Sancho, who could be one of the influential players in the league this season. There are also other stars like Erling Haaland who can make a difference. As a squad, however, Dortmund are not close to Bayern. It would need a strong start from Lucien Favre’s men to have any hope, according to Bundesliga betting tips.

Our Prediction – Bayern Munich to win the title at 1/7

Bundesliga Champions League Qualification Predictions

The battle to finish in the top four remains as one of the fascinating in the Bundesliga. It is also quite fascinating this season due to the vast changes that have taken place at clubs competing in these positions. RB Leipzig have sold their key goal scoring asset, Timo Werner, to Chelsea and it will be a mighty job to replace a player who scored 26 goals last season.

Bayer Leverkusen, meanwhile, have sold Kevin Volland and Kai Havertz to significantly weaken the squad. Even though there have been additions to the squad in the form of Patrick Schick, replacing the duo will be a difficult task. Yet, Leverkusen narrowly missed out on the top four places last season and Moussa Diaby promises to be one player who can step up to the task of replacing names like Kai Havertz. Leverkusen are boosted by Borussia Mönchengladbach’s inability to strengthen the squad in the summer, while Marco Rose’s men also have to deal with European games.

Our Prediction – RB Leipzig can be backed at 8/15 to finish in the top four by the latest Bundesliga outright odds. The Bundesliga outright odds for backing Leverkusen for a top four finish also looks good at 11/8.

Bundesliga 2020-21 Relegation Battle Predictions

Schalke 04

Schalke are in a precarious position coming into the 2020-21 campaign. The outcome of the pandemic might hit Schalke quite hard and it is already becoming evident with the club bringing in a wage cap for players. David Wagner has also seen Weston McKinnie and Alexander Nubel leave the club in the summer. Schalke were able to finish in the 12th place last season, but the last few years have been quite difficult for the team. Schalke have been unable to win any of the last 17 league matches and the lockdown break did not help matters. The latest Bundesliga tips do not expect any change in the situation and Schalke can be backed at a good price to get relegated. The major hope for Wagner’s men would be the experience of Vedad Ibisevic.

Arminia Beilefeld

A safer bet for relegation would be Arminia Beilefeld, who simply do not have the resources for competing at the top level. Even though Uwe Neuhaus was able to get the club as winners from the second division, they are unlikely to throw the kitchen sink when it comes to trying to stay in the division. This attitude from the team is already apparent from the transfer activity so far in the summer, as they have predominantly relied on loans and free transfers to do the job. There has been a flurry of new arrivals like Ritsu Doan, Jacob Barrett Laursen, and Christian Gebauer. Despite making a return to the Bundesliga for the first time since the 2008-9 campaign, Arminia Beilefeld are unlikely to stay on for much longer.

Other Contenders

Other relegation contenders for the 2020-21 campaign, according to the Bundesliga predictions, would be Koln, Mainz 05, Stuttgart, Augsburg, and Union Berlin. Last season, Werder Bremen were struggling a lot and they managed to escape relegation by the narrowest of margins. Even though the club were not very active in the transfer market, they have made some key additions like Tahith Chong, who has moved from Manchester United on a loan deal. Some of the key exits from Bremen are Claudio Pizarro, Nuri Sahin, Sebastian Langkamp, and Philipp Bargfrede. The important player for Bremen this season would be the presence of Theodor Gebre Selassie at the back.

Our Prediction – Arminia Beilefeld and Schalke

Bundesliga 2020-21 Europa League Qualification

Borussia Mönchengladbach were able to create history by qualifying for the Champions League last season, as the team secured the final qualification spot by finishing fourth in the table. However, Mönchengladbach may just be unable to hold onto this coveted spot largely due to a lack of strength in depth. The need to balance between domestic and European commitments will stretch the squad a lot as the condensed season progresses. Mönchengladbach have also not been able to achieve a lot of success in the market, as Valentino Lazaro is the only noteworthy signings so far. If Mönchengladbach are to succeed this season, a lot will depend on the form of Marcus Thruam and Alassane Pléa.

Hoffenheim have been able to enjoy a top six finish in three out of the last four campaigns. The arrival of a new manager in the form of Sebastian Hoeneb brings uncertainty, but there is hope for the team. Hoeneb has been in charge of lower league opponents and he has picked up decent success along the way. The key for Hoffenheim will be the form of Andrej Kramarić, who comes on the back of a decent campaign in which he scored 12 goals in 20 games.

Our Prediction – Borussia Mönchengladbach at 1/5 and Hoffenheim at 2/1

Bundesliga 2020-21 Top Scorer Prediction

Robert Lewandowski comes into the 2020-21 campaign as one of the experienced forwards in the division. He has also been going through a surge of form in recent years. His return of 34 goals last season almost produced the Ballon d’Or award, which went to Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. Lewandowski, though, was seen as a more deserving winner, as he helped Bayern pick up the domestic and Champions League titles. The Polish international has consistently been at the top of the goalscoring charts in the Bundesliga. Now, the arrival of players like Leroy Sane can help the veteran even further.

Last season, there was a lot of competition for Lewandowski but it has now come down to just a handful of players. Following the departure of the likes of Timo Werner, one of the best alternatives for anyone looking beyond Lewandowski would be Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. The young centre forward has been able to gather a lot of attention in recent times and an incredible 19-20 campaign is a strong reason. Erling Haaland ended up getting 44 goals and 10 assists from just 40 matches last season. He can be backed at a price of 9/2 for finishing as the top goalscorer of the Bundesliga.

Jadon Sancho comes in at a distant third when it comes to favourites. This should not come as a surprise considering that the 20-year-old might even leave German football before the end of the transfer window. Sancho has been linked heavily with many Premier League clubs. Furthermore, he is more of a goal creator rather than scorer. After 20 goals and 20 assists from 44 games last season, Sancho can be considered as an outside pick at odds of 20/1 from major bookmakers.

Our Prediction – Robert Lewandowski at 8/11 is the best pick for the top scorer betting market
