Bukayo Saka has developed into Arsenal's poster boy since coming through the Hale End ranks, with the winger becoming one of the best players at both the club and in world football – understandably making him one of the supporters' most beloved players.

It always feels especially special when an academy player ‘makes it' and that is no different for Saka, who has now been a regular in the Arsenal team since 2018, and is undeniably one of the best wingers in world football.

Widely regarded as the Premier League’s second-best right-sided attacker behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Saka’s reliability has stood out season after season, underpinned by sustained output and availability.

The 24-year-old contributed directly to 18 league goals during the 2021–22 campaign before raising his numbers the following year, scoring 14 times and supplying 11 assists as Arsenal mounted a serious title push, eventually finishing four points adrift of Manchester City.

Saka continued that upward trajectory in 2023–24, registering 16 league goals alongside nine assists, and while injuries disrupted his rhythm during the 2024–25 season, he still played a direct role in 16 goals across the campaign.

Despite three consecutive runners-up finishes, Arsenal now appear poised to finally end their long wait for Premier League glory, with Saka showing renewed sharpness after a subdued opening to the current season.

As a result of fan adoration, a chant for Bukayo Saka can be heard regularly in both Arsenal away ends and at the Emirates Stadium, while a version of the chant is also regularly heard during England matches.

For all the key information on the Saka chant, including the lyrics and tune, we have you covered below.

Bukayo Saka chant lyrics and tune

The Bukayo Saka chant is sung to the tune of Voulez-Vous by ABBA. The lyrics to the Arsenal version are as follows:

Bukayo, SAKA

Running down the wing, SAKA

Here the Arsenal sing, SAKA

We are gonna win the league

There is also another Saka chant that has been heard in recent months, further celebrating Hale End by including both Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis Skelly in the song.

The chant is sung to the tune of Super Trouper by ABBA. The lyrics are as follows:

Saka, Nwaneri, Myles Lewis Skelly

A Hale End dream come true

The Arsenal through and through

Putting on a show for you

Bukayo Saka chant background

Although the initial Bukayo Saka chant is now considered an Arsenal chant, it was actually created by England fans during qualifying for Euro 2024. The England version is the same as the Arsenal version except that the word ‘Arsenal' in line three is replaced with ‘England', and the final line is ‘We're all going to Berlin' (at the time of the competition).

This also isn't Arsenal's first Saka chant, but the original can no longer be used as it also incorporated Emile Smith-Rowe. That chant was sung to the tune of ‘Rockin' All Over the World' by Status Quo, and the lyrics were as follows:

I like it, I like it, I like it, I like it, Woah, Woah,

Here we go,

Saka and Emile Smith Rowe

FGG says: A downgrade

The original Bukayo Saka chant to the tune of Rockin' All Over the World was a brilliant and unique football chant, whereas the current effort is just a recycled Bernardo Silva/Sadio Mane chant. That doesn't mean it's necessarily bad, but it's certainly not as good as the Status Quo effort.

However, the newer chant involving both Nwaneri and Lewis Skelly is significantly more original and is a fitting appreciation to Arsenal's academy system, which has produced another two players who fans will be hoping can reach Saka's levels in coming years.
