Travel guide for UK fans attending Club World Cup

Chelsea and Manchester City are the only teams representing the United Kingdom in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The tournament, which takes place in 11 cities across the US, will kick off on 14 June and end on 13 July.

Manchester City are the defending champions, having defeated Fluminense 4-0 in the 2023/24 final. This year's competition will be different from previous ones, as it will feature 32 teams and a total of 63 matches. Unlike past tournaments, which were held annually with just seven teams, the Club World Cup will now take place every four years, beginning in the summer of 2025.

This guide is for UK fans travelling to the US. We provide you with vital information, including travel logistics, tickets, match venues and more.

This arrangement facilitates travel for UK fans who are attending the matches together. However, City fans will conclude their group-stage matches in Orlando.

Where can UK fans buy Club World Cup tickets?

Ticket sales for the FIFA Club World Cup began on 16 January 2025 and were sold on a first-come, first-served basis. UK fans travelling to the US for the tournament can still purchase match tickets from the official FIFA website.

Ticket prices for club supporters start from $30, while play-off matches are sold from $50. Note that the ticket prices do not include fees and taxes, so always verify at checkout to ensure you are paying the correct amount.

How to travel to and around the US during the Club World Cup

Fans of Manchester City and Chelsea travelling to the U.S. can book flights to Philadelphia, Orlando, or Atlanta. Airfare in June typically ranges from £500 to £1,200, depending on the landing city and the booking date. To find the best deals, it's advisable to use flight comparison sites. Alternatively, consider your club’s travel packages if available.

Manchester City fans can fly from Manchester Airport, while Chelsea supporters can conveniently board flights from Heathrow.

UK citizens wishing to enter the U.S. visa-free for up to 90 days must be approved through the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA), which requires a fee.

Domestic flights between Philadelphia and Atlanta typically cost between $100 and $250 one-way, though prices may vary depending on the airline. Train travel between these two cities via Amtrak takes approximately 14 to 16 hours and costs between $150 and $300. Note that there is no direct train service to Orlando, so a flight is recommended.

For more flexibility, renting a car is a good option, with daily rental rates ranging from $40 to $80. Additionally, parking fees near the stadiums can range from $20 to $50.

Can I drink at US stadiums?

In the United States, drinking in stadiums is generally permitted, but there are usually restrictions in place. For instance, you may be limited to purchasing a maximum of two bottles of beer at a time, often only allowed from the 75th minute of the game onwards.

It's also important to note that the legal drinking age in the U.S. is 21 years old, so you must present a valid ID to buy beer.

If you can't make it to the stadium on match day, consider visiting popular nearby bars in Philadelphia, Atlanta, or Orlando, where you can enjoy a pint while watching Chelsea or Manchester City matches.

How much does a beer cost at Club World Cup stadiums?

Beer prices range from $5 to $15. However, prices may vary depending on where you buy your beer. For wines and cocktails, you may pay upwards of $10 to $25. Remember to check FIFA guidelines for drinking beer inside the stadiums during the Club World Cup. Beer can be purchased from bars, concession stands and from vendors in the stands.
