Is Seatpick legit? Our review of the self-styled “leading ticket search engine online”

Buying football tickets from third-party websites has become the norm in recent years, as tickets are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain directly through football clubs.

The rise in demand for tickets has seen more third-party websites pop up, which can often lead to scams and fans being ripped off. Additionally, prices have gone through the roof on certain sites, which makes it more important than ever to find the best price on the most reputable site as quickly as possible.

Is Seatpick legit? And is it the answer to the problem? Let's find out.

Is Seatpick legit? The rundown

What is Seatpick?

The best way to think of Seatpick is as the ticket version of Skyscanner, the platform that millions of people use to compare the prices of flights before booking with an airline. Seatpick works much the same way and allows users to compare what different vendors are charging for certain events.

This saves fans plenty of time, as it removes the need to scroll through countless ticketing sites to find the cheapest and most legitimate tickets. Seatpick effectively does that job for them and presents it in a user-friendly way, allowing fans to sort by price.

In total, Seatpick is affiliated with more than 50 ticket-selling sites, including the likes of Viagogo, FootballTicketNet, LiveFootballTickets, StubHub, and Ticketpad.

How to use Seatpick

Seatpick is very easy to navigate. If you are looking for tickets for a specific match or event, for example, Man Utd tickets, then the easiest way to find them is to use the search bar on the home page. From here, follow these steps:

  1. Once you have searched for and found your event, select how many tickets you are looking for and whether you need them to be situated next to each other or not.
  2. Scroll through the listed tickets and decide which one(s) you want to purchase.
  3. Once you have decided, click on the ticket and select ‘go to checkout'.
  4. You will then be redirected to the sellers' website.
  5. From here, you will then be able to decide whether to proceed with the purchase or not.

This is the only stage of the process where the ‘legitimacy' of Seatpick can be questioned as the price listed on their website is never the same as the price listed on the vendor's website. This is because Seatpick don't advertise the additional fees that their partners charge so fans can sometimes feel like they've been misled by the platform.

Seatpick guarantee

Seatpick offers a guarantee for all tickets purchased on the platform. They guarantee that the tickets ordered are valid for entry and will be delivered on time. If none of these things happen, they will send customers a full refund or a replacement ticket. Interestingly, though, this guarantee only applies to tickets purchased on SeatPick.

For tickets sold via one of Seapick's partner sites, customers have to rely on their guarantees. Seatpick vets each website listed on its platform and ensures that each one provides its own guarantee to help protect customers.

Seatpick fees

Seatpick doesn't charge fees itself, but each seller does. You won't find out these fees until you are redirected to their website, and some of them can be pretty hefty, making the overall price of the ticket unreasonable.
