Moises Caicedo signed for Chelsea in the summer of 2023 after a transfer tussle between the Blues and fellow Premier League side Liverpool.
The all-action midfielder cost the club a mammoth £115m, so the pressure was on for him to perform in West London. Although he endured a slow start to his Chelsea career, he has since gone on to justify that price tag, becoming one of the best players in his position in the world.
The natural result of that is the Chelsea faithful taking a shine to him. Nowadays, the Ecuadorian is one of the fan favourites at Stamford Bridge, and in recent months, a new Moises Caicedo chant has emerged.
For all the key information on this Chelsea chant, we have you covered below.
Moises Caicedo chant, lyrics and tune
The Moises Caicedo chant is sung to the tune of ‘Gold' by Spandau Ballet. The lyrics are as follows:
Caicedo, oh, Moises will win you the ball,
You've got the power to know, you're indestructible,
Always believe in,
Caicedo!
Moises Caicedo chant background
The Moises Caicedo chant isn't the first footballer in the world to have a football chant made for him to the tune of ‘Gold' by Spandau Ballet, and he won't be the last.
As far as we are aware, the first iteration of the chant was made by West Ham fans for Carlton Cole, and ever since, it has seemingly been used for every player who has had a surname that sounds vaguely like ‘gold'.
The Caicedo version isn't even the first Chelsea iteration of the chant. The Blues famously used to sing a near-identical version for N'Golo Kante, so it is perhaps fitting that they have created this one for the best midfielder they have had since Kante left the club.

FGG says: A player deserving of something better
Taking absolutely nothing away from N'Golo Kante, but Moises Caicedo is a better player than the Frenchman, and he deserves more than just a ripped-off version of his chant. The song implies that Caicedo is merely just a ball-winner in the middle of the park, but the reality is that he does a lot more than that.
