Carlo Ancelotti has recreated the viral cigar picture from 2022 during this year’s Real Madrid parade to celebrate the club’s 36th La Liga title. They were crowned champions last weekend following Barcelona’s 4-2 defeat to Girona.

Real Madrid parade explained
Madrid paraded the La Liga trophy through the city, visiting the town hall before going to the final destination at Plaza de Cibeles to greet the supporters. The fountain at Cibeles is traditionally the place where Madrid fans celebrate trophy wins with the players.
Ancelotti in celebratory mood
After Los Blancos’ 4-0 victory against Granada yesterday, Ancelotti was asked about the upcoming parade on Sunday, May 12. He said: “You’ll see me with a cigar and sunglasses.” Two years before Madrid won their 35th La Liga title, Ancelotti was pictured in sunglasses while holding a cigar with some of his players. This year, he recreated the photo with a blue and white scarf around his neck.

Champions League final to come
During the parade, the players and staff were in a celebratory mood, especially given the late comeback against Bayern Munich to secure a place in this year’s UEFA Champions League final. They will face Borussia Dortmund on June 1 at Wembley Stadium, as they look to secure a 15th triumph in European football’s biggest club competition.
