Arsenal supporters may have been given their strongest indication yet that significant changes could eventually arrive at the Emirates Stadium after fresh comments from club executives hinted at future upgrades.
As the stadium approaches its 20th anniversary, attention appears to be turning towards how Arsenal can modernise and evolve one of English football's most recognisable venues for the next generation.
What has Josh Kroenke said about upgrading the Emirates Stadium?
Arsenal chief executive Richard Garlick confirmed the club are actively assessing future plans relating to facilities across different areas of the organisation, including the Emirates Stadium.
Speaking on The Overlap, Garlick said: “There is always ambition about growing the club in every which way we can. Facilities, whether it's at the stadium, training ground, whether it's supporters around the world – we have plans.
“We have been looking at these for a while now, and looking at the options, it is 20 years since we moved to the Emirates, and it feels a good time to assess what we can do and how we might go about things.”
Gunners co-owner Josh Kroenke then added another intriguing detail by referencing SoFi Stadium, home to his LA Rams NFL franchise, and the potential for ideas to be brought across.
“It is a beautiful stadium. We have SoFi Stadium, and we are going to be working on best practices to try to bring over here and really give the Arsenal supporters something special as well.”
Kroenke's comments do not confirm specific redevelopment projects, but they do hint at broader thinking around improving supporter experience and modernising facilities.
Given SoFi Stadium's reputation as one of the most technologically advanced venues in sport, potential inspiration could involve enhanced hospitality areas, upgraded concourses, improved digital experiences, expanded fan zones, immersive media features or wider matchday entertainment improvements.
Large-scale structural expansion has not been mentioned, with the focus instead appearing to centre around enhancing the overall stadium experience.

FGG says: A genuinely exciting signal for Arsenal supporters
The Emirates Stadium may still feel modern compared with many grounds across Europe, but football venues evolve quickly, and two decades is a long time in stadium terms.
The interesting part here is not necessarily the mention of SoFi Stadium itself, but rather what that comparison potentially represents.
Supporters shouldn’t expect giant suspended screens or dramatic structural changes overnight, yet the direction of travel is clear with modern stadium projects increasingly focusing on elevating the entire matchday experience, not just the 90 minutes on the pitch.
If Arsenal are genuinely exploring ideas inspired by one of the world’s most advanced sports venues, fans could eventually see upgrades spanning fan zones, technology, hospitality, and atmosphere‑enhancing features.
For Arsenal supporters, this feels less like routine maintenance and more like the first indication that something genuinely ambitious may be taking shape.
