Nottingham Forest‘s Global Head of Football, Edu Gaspar, has been banished from the City Ground and training complex by owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Edu, who was part of Arsenal's invincible squad in 2003/04, was appointed as Forest's Global Head of Football in July 2025, less than a year after leaving his role as Arsenal's sporting director. As part of his current position, Edu also works with Greek giants Olympiacos and Portuguese side Rio Ave, who are also owned by Marinakis.
The 47-year-old has experienced a tumultuous period during his short time working with Forest. Just weeks after his appointment, Edu fell out with then Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo, with the breakdown in relationship said to be one of the factors behind the decision to part ways with the Portuguese coach in September.
Forest have since appointed and sacked Ange Postecoglou and Sean Dyche. The latter was dismissed in February and subsequently replaced by former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Vitor Pereira.
While they may be competing in the Europa League last 16, Forest are battling to preserve their Premier League status, with just goal difference separating them from West Ham United in the drop zone.

Edu heading towards Forest exit
Pereira's side at least managed to pick a precious point in Wednesday's difficult away clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. According to The Telegraph, Edu was not in attendance to watch Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson score in the 2-2 draw.
The report claims that Marinakis has told Edu to stay away from the club's training ground and stadium. The move appears to be a sign that his time with the club is set to come to an end, just eight months after starting the position.
There is a belief that the former Arsenal midfielder could depart before the end of the current season, although Forest have stated that he is still ‘continuing to work as normal'.
FGG says: Marinakis' latest display of ruthlessness
Marinakis has demonstrated with three managerial sackings this season that he is willing to be ruthless in an effort to improve results on the pitch.
So, it should come as no surprise that he may be evaluating Edu's position given the club's current predicament in the Premier League.
That said, it could be argued that the sacking of three managers has not helped the club and has only added to the feeling of chaos around Forest this season.
