Barcelona’s long wait for clarity over the reopening of the Gol Nord may finally be nearing its end.
A fresh update now suggests the expanded capacity at Spotify Camp Nou could arrive sooner rather than later.
When will the Gol Nord finally reopen at the Camp Nou?
The Catalan giants are still awaiting final approval from Barcelona City Council for the 1C licence that would raise the capacity of Spotify Camp Nou to around 62,000 spectators.
The club has already submitted the required documentation and even begun activating the process for members to secure subscriptions tied to roughly 14,000 additional seats in the reopened Gol Nord section.
However, as previously confirmed, the licence will not arrive in time for the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid on March 3.
City officials have reportedly raised further concerns, particularly regarding access requirements for the first and second tiers of Gol Nord, despite construction in those areas being completed for some time.
Nevertheless, according to SPORT, optimism remains that the green light could come within weeks, potentially in time for the LaLiga clash against Sevilla FC on Sunday March 15, provided scheduling changes do not intervene.

FGG says: A big boost for Barcelona and its supporters
If the 1C licence is approved in time for Sevilla’s visit, it would represent a major lift for both emotions and finances.
An additional 14,000 supporters inside the stadium would significantly increase matchday revenue, which is something Barcelona are very much aware of amid ongoing economic pressures.
Beyond the numbers, the on-pitch impact matters just as much – since returning to the Camp Nou, Barcelona have turned it into a fortress, winning every home game played there since November. A fuller Gol Nord would only amplify that atmospheric advantage.
After months of delays and red tape, reopening the stand would feel like actual progress in a renovation process that has tested patience.
