Barcelona supporters will soon see more of the iconic stadium reopen as redevelopment work continues.
The LaLiga giants have now confirmed a key milestone in the gradual return to full operations at the Camp Nou, allowing tens of thousands more fans to attend matches.
Camp Nou capacity to increase to over 62,500 supporters
After reports of their optimism earlier in the week, Barcelona have now announced that the local city council has granted the first occupancy licence for Phase 1C of the redevelopment at the Spotify Camp Nou.
The approval allows the reopening of the Gol Nord area and several hospitality zones within the stadium, increasing the venue’s available capacity to 62,652 spectators.
Among the spaces now operational are the Pitch Club and Main Hub in the Grandstand and the Mini Hub in the Lateral stand, all located between the first and second tiers.
The licence also enables the new supporters’ section in the South Goal, named Gol 1957, a reference to the year the stadium originally opened.
Barcelona say the changes are part of the ongoing phased reopening of the stadium while redevelopment work continues.

The club will now begin allocating additional passes to members for the North Goal section, with demand potentially requiring a ballot if applications exceed the available seats.
The expanded capacity will be in place when Barcelona host Sevilla on Sunday 15th March, marking another step in the stadium’s gradual return to full use.
FGG says: Long-awaited update comes as huge boost to Barcelona fans
For supporters, the steady reopening of Camp Nou has been one of the most closely watched aspects of the club’s redevelopment project.
Increasing capacity to more than 62,000 significantly improves the matchday experience compared with the reduced numbers seen during earlier phases of construction. It also restores more of the stadium’s traditional atmosphere, particularly with the creation of the new Gol 1957 supporters section.
For fans eager to return in greater numbers, it represents another step toward seeing Camp Nou fully restored as one of football’s biggest and most iconic venues.
