Brighton owner pictured in away end
Bloom was seen leaning on the handrails in the safe standing section of the Gtech Community Stadium. @colincurryer said on X.com (formerly Twitter), “When your billionaire owner is in the away end,” with a picture of Bloom among the travelling supporters.
Fans speculated on X that the reason for Bloom’s presence in the away end was due to his ongoing feud with Brentford owner, Matthew Benham. The Bees owner used to work for Bloom’s company in the betting industry but quit in 2004. Since then, but the pair haven’t spoken to each other and with the two club’s recent success, the feud has been increasingly discussed in the mainstream media.
In reply to the original photo of Bloom in the away end, @TraceyGrennan said: “Always does at Brentford.” Meanwhile @rokerroarontour said: “He hates Benham.”

Record profits for Bloom and Brighton
The picture of the Brighton owner in the away end comes just days after it was announced that the club had recorded a profit of £122.8 million in the 2022-23 financial year. This is the most successful in Brighton’s history and highlights the continued success of the Seagulls’ off-field structure.
On the We Are Brighton fan site, Brighton supporter Scott McCarthy said: “”Bloom has sunk half a billion pounds of his own money into turning Brighton from League One strugglers to Europa League participants.
“Question him, pit yourself against him, and there is only going to be one winner in that popularity contest in the eyes of most Albion fans.”
