Coventry City have announced a major new partnership that will see more than £15m invested into the Coventry Building Society Arena over the next three years.

The project is aimed at transforming the stadium into a major year-round destination for sport, music, exhibitions, conferences and hospitality.

Coventry City unveil £15m investment in the CBS Arena

Coventry City, the CBS Arena and venue management company Legends Global have agreed a new ‘landmark' partnership backed by a joint investment of more than £15 million.

The investment will fund improvements across the venue, including redesigned kiosks, upgraded food and drink options, new premium hospitality areas and improvements to technology, infrastructure and operations.

A major part of the hospitality revamp will see Simon Rogan's Umbel Restaurant Group establish a residency in The Engine Room lounge.

The group operates restaurants holding 10 Michelin stars, bringing a high-end dining option to matchdays and other events.

Legends Global, which works with major sporting and entertainment venues around the world, will also help Coventry develop the CBS Arena as a 365-day destination rather than a stadium primarily used for football.

The Sky Blues moved into the venue from Highfield Road in 2005 but endured periods playing home games at Northampton Town and Birmingham City during disputes over the stadium.

They finally became landlords at the CBS Arena in August 2025, and the venue will now host its first Premier League campaign after Coventry secured promotion as Championship winners last season.

With a capacity of more than 32,500, the CBS Arena is set to be one of the mid-sized stadiums in the Premier League during the 2026/27 campaign.

FGG says: Another sign of Coventry's upward trajectory

This is another significant step forward for Coventry after finally returning to the Premier League and securing control of their long-term home.

The £15m investment should help turn the CBS Arena into a much more modern and commercially powerful venue, while the timing reflects the club's remarkable upward trajectory after years of uncertainty.
