Chelsea Pre-Season Tour Fixtures: Blues to face Premier League opponents in the USA

After one of the most disappointing seasons in the club's recent history, the Chelsea board have been busy this Summer trying to put things in place to ensure history doesn't repeat itself.

The first, and arguably the most important thing they have done is appoint a new manager. Mauricio Pochettino, widely regarded as one of the best coaches in the world, has taken the reigns at Stamford Bridge and he looks set to manage a new-look squad if their early-summer business is anything to go by.

It looks highly likely that several first-team players will be leaving the club, including the likes of Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic. The reason for the first-team exodus is not only due to the need to balance the books to meet financial fair play regulations but also to allow the club to bring players in.

One player who has already signed on the dotted line is Christopher Nkunku who has joined from RB Leipzig. Chelsea fans won't have to wait long to see their new signing in action with their pre-season matches set to commence shortly. Here is everything you need to know about Chelsea's pre-season schedule.

Who are Chelsea playing in pre-season?

As is the norm for England's biggest clubs, Chelsea will be embarking on an overseas pre-season tour this summer. In total, they will play five games in the USA this summer before heading back to London at the start of August to prepare for their first Premier League. Manchester United are also touring the USA this summer, however, the two teams aren't set to play against each other.

Chelsea's full list of pre-season fixtures is as follows:

Kick-off times all UK

19/07/23 – Chelsea vs Wrexham – 00:00, Kenan Memorial Stadium

23/07/23 – Chelsea vs Brighton & Hove Albion – 00:00, Lincoln Financial Field

How to watch Chelsea's pre-season matches

So far, there has been no official announcement from the club on how fans can watch all of their pre-season game this summer. However, based on last season when the club toured the USA, fans should expect to be able to watch all five matches either through the official Chelsea website or by downloading the 5th Stand app.

The 5th Stand app is Chelsea's official app and gives fans free access to behind-the-scenes video and match highlights. Last year it was used to broadcast Chelsea's pre-season fixtures meaning supporters will be able to watch this summer's game on their phones, tablets and smart TVs should the same happen this year.

If the games aren't broadcast live, then fans will at least be able to watch full-match highlights from all five games on the club's official YouTube Channel.
