On Monday, The Danish Football Association were given a €10,000 fine by UEFA for an offensive banner that was unfurled by the nation's supporters during the 1-1 draw with England in Frankfurt last Thursday.
The banner, which read ‘F**k UEFA', was raised in the Denmark end at various points during the match and was in view during the pre-match minute's applause for former UEFA General Secretary, Gerhard Aigner, who recently passed away.
The fine also took into account ‘disturbances during the national anthems' that UEFA blamed Denmark fans for and also for fireworks being set off in the Denmark end.
Responding to the fine, the Danish FA have taken it on the chin but have bowed to hunt down the fans responsible for the aforementioned banner and make them pay for it. Erik Brøgger Rasmussen, the Danish FA's Director, told TV 2 Sport:
“We pay the fine, but the most important thing for us, and we are starting to do that now, is that we identify those who have brought in the banner, and then we will pass the bill on to them.
“If we find them, they can pay. We hope that those who might bring a banner with this type of language to the stadium will think twice. After all, it is a bill of 75,000 krone.”
I’ve only just seen this video of Denmark fans singing “it’s never coming home…” to England on Thursday.

Denmark fans aren't alone as Euro 2024 fines pile up
The €10,000 fine was the latest in a long line of fines that have been dished out by UEFA during Euro 2024. The Albanian and Serbian Football Associations were both hit with a fine of the same amount last week as a result of their fans displaying banners with nationalist maps.
On top of that, Albania were fined for their fans “transmitting provocative messages not fit for a sports event” during their match with Croatia and a further €25,000 for their fans lighting fireworks and invading the pitch.
The Croatian FA, meanwhile, have been fined €28,000 as a result of their fans lighting flares and throwing objects onto the pitch. After Croatia fans were caught throwing beer cups onto the pitch against Italy on Monday night, a further fine may well be heading their way.
