The Euro 2024 final is now upon us with kick-off scheduled for 8pm UK time on Sunday, July 14. Gareth Southgate's Three Lions have already made history, becoming the first England men's side ever to reach the final of a tournament not hosted on home soil.
With that in mind, you may not be surprised to learn that there have been many examples of England fans celebrating ahead of the match, and, perhaps for the first time during the competition, there is now a feel-good factor sweeping its way across the fanbase.
England fans celebrating after Netherlands win

Three Lions supporters were understandably in a good mood in the immediate aftermath of their side's semi-final victory over the Netherlands, and some took the opportunity to ridicule Dutch fans on the train after the game.

‘Football's coming home'
Counting your chickens before they hatch is often seen as bad luck, especially in football, where the superstition of ‘jinxing' your team is rife. However, that has never, and likely will never, stop England supporters from chanting ‘Football's coming home' at every major tournament.
That has again been the case at Euro 2024, with several videos emerging on social media, such as the one below, during which a group of Three Lions fans can be heard singing: “We’ve been to Dortmund, Düsseldorf. Frankfurt and Cologne. We’re on our way to Berlin and Football’s coming home.”

Or like this England supporter, who after telling Southgate to “block out the haters”, answered with the word “absolutely” when asked if it was coming home.

It wasn't just fans in Germany feeling confident, either. Thousands of fans flock to social media after the Three Lions' victory against the Netherlands. One such supporter took to X, formerly Twitter, to say: “It really is coming home! I have zero doubt in my mind. The boys are finally bringing a trophy to us after so long!”
Calls for extra bank holiday
In a move which has also been the subject of amusement for rival fans before, England supporters are once more calling for an extra bank holiday to celebrate the Three Lions' potential Euro 2024 triumph – before the game has even kicked off.
New Prime Minister Keir Starmer, an avid Arsenal supporter, has previously been in favour of granting fans an extra day to celebrate potential victories in the past, and this time round, has stated that “We must mark it in some way” if the Three Lions were to win.
Of course, those celebrations may not happen, but one thing is for certain: England fans haven't held back their celebrations before the Euro 2024 final.
