England fans go crazy at Euro 2024 fan park after last-gasp equalizer

It may not have been the most inspiring England performance against Slovakia on June 30, but that didn't stop these England fans from going crazy at a Euro 2024 fan park while celebrating Jude Bellingham's last-gasp equalizer.

It was a tense match, with boos from the crowd rife throughout, but they showed their passion and love for their nation in tremendous fashion when it mattered most.

Incredible scenes at Euro 2024 fan park

Three Lions supporters have their downfalls and are, unfortunately, more than deserving of their bad reputation across the continent. But, what can never be questioned is their love for their national team.

It is that passion that results in the creation of excellent chants, the large crowds that often follow the side wherever they play and incredible celebrations when things go well – and we saw that again during England's match with Slovakia in the Euro 2024 Round of 16.

The game appeared to be petering out and with a few minutes left on the clock and Slovakia a goal to the good, all hope was lost and every England fan had likely accepted their fate.

Enter Bellingham and his marvellous 95th-minute acrobatic finish.

Almost as soon as the ball nestled into the net, the crowd at the game erupted, and the scenes at one Euro 2024 fan park were possibly even more impressive.

Hundreds, if not thousands of supporters, went crazy as they watched and revelled in the joy of the goal. It was a truly incredible moment and a reminder of how special international football can be.

England fans' beer-throwing tradition continues

For a reason that cannot be explained using any tangible logic, England supporters have a long-standing tradition of throwing pints of beer while celebrating.

Nobody quite knows why, but it happens almost every single time the Three Lions score an important goal. Depending on your stance, the behaviour is either one of the things that make international football exciting or is incredibly childish.

Regardless, one thing is certain – if you are watching the Three Lions at a pub, bar or fan park, expect to get wet.

Joy or relief?'

There is no denying that the celebrations were incredible, but the reason behind them is a little more ambiguous.

Frustrations had been growing throughout the game, and the supporters inside the stadium were making their feelings towards Gareth Southgate and the players known. Supporters watching at home were likely experiencing the same deflated emotions too.

So, what exactly made the fans go as crazy as they did in the video above – was it joy, or was it relief?

In truth, it was almost certainly a combination of the two. Joy and relief are perhaps the two most common emotions in football, and when they are released simultaneously, it often leads to spectacular moments such as this one.
