Fan demonstrations at Euro 2024: Day six

The fan demonstrations at Euro 2024 have been one of the many reasons why the tournament has been such a brilliant spectacle so far. We may only be a week into the tournament, but we have already seen several fanbases create stunning atmospheres inside the host stadiums and in the surrounding areas.

On day six of the tournament, three matches took place and all six sets of fans did their best to build an atmosphere to help their teams to victory.

Fan demonstrations at Euro 2024: Best of day six

Croatia vs Albania

Despite fears before kick-off, Croatia and Albania fans got on just fine in the build-up to their match in Hamburg. While the afternoon kick-off might have helped from an alcohol perspective, the atmosphere in the city was fantastic in the hours before the match.

While Croatia fans were perhaps noisier in the centre of Hamburg before kick-off, the Albania supporters won the battle inside the stadium. Before kick-off, they unveiled a huge banner dedicated to their nation behind one of the goals.

Germany vs Hungary

For Wednesday's evening match, the hosts were back in action. They were taking on Hungary in Stuttgart in a match that was considered high-risk due to the notoriety of certain sections of the Hungarian fanbase. Instead of causing trouble, the Hungary fans instead marched to the stadium in stunning scenes.

Germany fans also marched to the MHP Arena but their demonstration felt more family-friendly as opposed to the intimidating display from the Hungarians.

Scotland vs Switzerland

Scotland fans have been soaking up the atmosphere in Cologne for several days and before their big match with Switzerland, they gathered at Cologne Cathedral before marching to the stadium with bagpipes.

The Switzerland fans didn't bring anything too spectacular in terms of atmosphere but a couple of their fans did bring a couple of humorous homemade banners into the stadium.
