Barcelona's iconic Camp Nou redevelopment has reached another milestone, with attention now turning to the playing surface as work continues across the wider stadium.
Fresh images from the site show preparations are underway for a brand-new hybrid pitch ahead of the 2026/27 season, while construction on the wider renovation remains in full swing.

While work continues on the ambitious redevelopment of Spotify Camp Nou, Barcelona have now started replacing the stadium's playing surface ahead of the new campaign.
Fresh images from the site show the existing turf being removed before the installation of a new hybrid pitch, which will combine natural grass with synthetic fibres to improve durability and playing quality.
Before the new surface is laid, workers will also restructure and level the subsoil to ensure proper stability and drainage.
The pitch replacement is taking place alongside significant progress elsewhere around the stadium – construction continues on the third tier, while supports for the future roof now surround almost the entire bowl.
Work is also advancing beyond the seating areas, with decorative exterior elements beginning to appear alongside new retail and hospitality spaces that will form part of Barcelona's long-term vision for the revamped stadium.
The club still expects the full Camp Nou redevelopment to be completed by the end of 2027, although sections of the stadium are expected to reopen in phases before then.
