Georgia fans flood the streets of Hamburg ahead of Euro 2024 clash

Georgia fans are experiencing major international tournament football for the very first time at Euro 2024, and they are making a great account of themselves that is for sure.

Ahead of their vital clash with the Czech Republic on Saturday, June 22, the nation's supporters swarmed the streets of Hamburg as they travelled to the game – it was a truly magnificent sight.

Thousands of Georgia fans march as one

It may be their first time at a major tournament, But you wouldn't guess that just by looking at them. They have been incredibly organised and provided us with yet another special moment to add to the Euro 2024 collection.

In the hours before kick-off against the Czech Republic, in an act that could be compared to that of the Netherlands just a few days ago, Georgian supporters could be seen marching their way through the city of Hamburg on their way to the Volksparkstadion.

Despite their Euro 2024 status hanging in the balance ahead of what promised to be a nervy encounter, the fans were clearly in a good mood.

Unfortunately, the team were unable to match their extraordinary performance levels and could only earn a draw, leaving them two points adrift of second-placed Turkey with one game to play in Group F,

Can Georgia qualify for the knockout stages of Euro 2024?

Yes, they absolutely can.

Georgia may currently sit bottom of their group, needing a win to stand any chance of progression, but their supporters should not lose hope.

The two nations above them, Turkey and the Czech Republic, play each other in their last game. If that match were to end in a draw, the tournament newcomers would need to win by two goals or more to guarantee their spot in the next round.

It won't be easy given they face Portugal in their final match, but with the Euro 2016 champions having already virtually secured the top spot in the group, they may just rest some of their key players. Third place could also be enough for Georgia to qualify for the Knockout stages,

It will be difficult, but it certainly isn't impossible.
