Harry Maguire has had a rollercoaster of a career over the past decade and, even to this day, he remains a player who divides opinion across English football.
The current Manchester United defender rose to superstardom during the 2018 World Cup, when the then-Leicester City central defender was one of England's standout performers on their route to the World Cup semi-finals.
A year later, Maguire joined Man United in a mega-money move, and his popularity across the country began to dwindle as the defender made a series of high-profile mistakes, eventually losing his captaincy to Bruno Fernandes.

The Harry Maguire chant is considered more of an England chant than a Man Utd chant, although the Old Trafford faithful do have a slightly modified version (more on that shortly).
The most popular Maguire chant is sung to the tune of Mexican folk song La Bamba, and the lyrics are as follows:

The Man Utd version of the chant is slightly different in that the lines about vodka and Jaeger are replaced with ‘he f***ed off Leicester, for Manchester'.
Harry Maguire chant origins
The Harry Maguire chant above was first heard during the 2018 World Cup, when England fans were having the time of their lives in Russia.
Maguire scored a couple of goals for England at the tournament and was considered one of the breakout stars for the Three Lions.
If England had gone on to win the World Cup that year, Maguire winning the player of the tournament wouldn't have been out of the question.
