Hill Dickinson Stadium could be set to make Everton history once again, with the impressive venue now being lined up to host another major non-football event following its recent success.
The Toffees' new home has already proven its versatility to host other sporting occasions after it was selected to host the 19th Magic Weekend in rugby league, a decision that followed the ground's successful staging of the second Ashes test between England and Australia back in November.
Now, momentum is building behind the idea of them taking things one step further in the sport.
What has been said about Hill Dickinson Stadium hosting the Super League Grand Final?
Since 1998, Old Trafford has played host to the final in all but one year. However, that deal with Manchester United is due to expire in 2027, and it's claimed that the Hill Dickinson Stadium will be firmly in the conversation to take over.
Rugby League Commercial managing director Rhodri Jones confirmed as much when speaking to the ECHO, explaining that the final decision hinges on “availability, desire, the economics and location.”

He added that Everton have impressed key decision-makers so far, claiming that the Toffees are “putting their best foot forward” and insisted that the Hill Dickinson Stadium will be “in the reckoning” when formal discussions begin.
FGG says: Another reason to justify Everton's move to Bramley-Moore Dock
The growing interest from other sports like rugby league is yet another major endorsement of Everton's bold decision to move away from Goodison Park and move two miles down the road.
A modern, multi-purpose venue capable of hosting major events year-round opens the door to significant commercial revenue, something that is now proving to be increasingly vital in the era of PSR regulations and strict financial controls.
If the Hill Dickinson Stadium does become the long-term home for the Super League Grand Final, it would underline just how transformative the Bramley-Moore Dock project could be.
Not just for Everton, but for elite sport in Merseyside as a whole.
