Newcastle United are hopeful that they could receive 3,100 tickets for the upcoming Champions League clash against Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou.
The Magpies had to play a knockout round playoff tie against Qarabag after they finished in 12th position in the league phase. Eddie Howe's side ultimately made light work of the Azerbaijan champions, easing to a 9-3 aggregate victory to set up a last-16 tie against Barcelona.
Newcastle have already faced Hansi Flick's side this season, losing 2-1 at St James' Park in September's league phase encounter. They will welcome Barcelona back to the north east for Tuesday's first leg before they travel to the Camp Nou for the return fixture on Wednesday, March 18.
The upcoming away trip will be Newcastle's first trip to the Camp Nou since Shola Ameobi scored in a 3-1 defeat to Barcelona in a Champions League clash in December 2002.

What is Newcastle's allocation for Camp Nou trip?
Having waited 24 years to see their team at Camp Nou, there are thousands of Newcastle fans hoping to purchase tickets for the second leg against the five-time European champions.
The Magpies have been given an initial allocation of 2,215 tickets for the encounter on March 18, although those tickets have already gone on sale.
Upon providing the ticket information, Newcastle said: “This is an initial allocation, with the hope to increase it should Barcelona be granted additional capacity.”
How many more tickets could Newcastle receive for Barcelona clash?
The Newcastle Supporters' Club have confirmed that the aim is to increase Newcastle's overall allocation to 3,100. However, Barcelona's ability to offer more away tickets is likely to depend on whether they can increase the overall capacity of their stadium.
The Blaugrana have been working with a reduced capacity of around 45,000 since they reopened the redeveloped Camp Nou in November. With construction work continuing at the stadium, the club have experienced delays in their efforts to obtain the required license to increase the capacity to 62,000.
FGG says: Newcastle running out of time for increased capacity
With under two weeks to go until the second leg, Newcastle's hopes of receiving an increased allocation appear to rest on whether the Barcelona City Council grant the Blaugrana the appropriate license to open up more sections of the Camp Nou.
If the license does not arrive in time, it seems that Newcastle may have to settle for their initial 2,215 allocation.
