Leeds United's West Stand redevelopment is changing the landscape around Elland Road, but one much-loved piece of club history has been carefully preserved.
The iconic 1972 FA Cup mural has now been relocated, with the finishing touches set to be applied this weekend.

Leeds supporters visiting Elland Road will notice a familiar sight in a new location after superfan and artist Nicolas Dixon completed the relocation of the club's popular 1972 FA Cup mural.
The artwork, originally commissioned by the Leeds United Supporters Trust in 2022 to mark 50 years since the club's FA Cup triumph, has been repainted at the north-east corner of the stadium as redevelopment work continues.
The original wall is being incorporated into the club's new security hub as part of the wider West Stand project, with outward-facing kiosk windows making it impossible for the mural to remain in its previous position.
Rather than removing the artwork altogether, Leeds invited Dixon back to recreate it, with the lifelong supporter describing the opportunity as “a privilege” to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The redesigned mural once again celebrates Don Revie, Les Cocker and the legendary players who lifted the FA Cup in 1972, although Dixon revealed the new version required a complete redesign to fit around the revised wall layout.
He admitted the process was more challenging than expected but believes the finished piece is even better than the original, with a few extra surprises included before completion.

Stadium redevelopments often mean saying goodbye to familiar landmarks, so it's refreshing to see Leeds ensure one of Elland Road's most cherished pieces of artwork remains part of the matchday experience.
The mural perfectly bridges the club's past and future. While it will officially be completed this weekend, supporters heading to Elland Road can already stop by and admire a piece of Leeds United history in its new home.
