On Wednesday, 19 February the Santiago Bernabeu will play host as Real Madrid welcome Manchester City to the Spanish capital for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League play-off round tie.
If past clashes between the two sides are anything to go by, it will almost certainly be an enthralling affair with both teams desperate to avoid an early exit from the competition. Neither are strangers to tense knockout football and have both eliminated the other in the last few seasons.
There will likely be thousands of Man City fans in Madrid come matchday, and if you plan on being one of them, here is your full matchday guide to the Santiago Bernabeu.

How many Man City fans are going to Madrid?
Given the enormous 78,000 capacity of the Santiago Bernabeu, you will not be surprised to learn that Manchester City fans have been handed a relatively large allocation of away tickets for this fixture – 3,913 to be exact.
Although, it is worth noting that these Real Madrid vs Manchester City tickets are fairly pricey, commanding a fee of £50 per ticket.
Therefore, with Pep Guardiola's side likely to sell their entire allocation expect to see at least 3,913 Man City fans in Madrid ahead of this fixture. However, football fans notoriously use away days as an excuse for a trip abroad, particularly when the destination is Spain, so the actual figure is likely to be far higher than that.
Where will Man City fans sit at the Santiago Bernabeu?
Unfortunately, for as great as the stadium is, the away section at the Santiago Bernabeu is located in the upper tier of the Fondo Norte (North Stand).
Specifically, away supporters will typically be seated in the corner between the North and East Stand, with the vast majority of travelling fans in line with the corner flag.

Where to eat & drink for Man City fans in Madrid
While you may want to avoid pubs in the immediate surrounding areas of the stadium, Madrid is an incredibly popular tourist spot and as such, there are a whole host of pubs and bars in the city centre that represent good options for Man City on matchday.
Our top suggestions are as follows:
- The Irish Rover, Av. de Brasil, 7, Tetuan, 28020 Madrid, Spain
- Luckia Sport Cafe, C. de Alcala, 397, Cdad. Lineal, 28027 Madrid, Spain
- James Joyce Irish Pub Madrid, C. de Alcalá, 59, Salamanca, 28014 Madrid, Spain
While Madrid is generally considered to be a safe city for travelling away fans, we do recommend keeping team colours covered as much as possible ahead of kick-off.

Regardless of which route you ultimately take, you can expect the journey from the city centre to the ground to take around 20 minutes.
