New Adidas advert for Euro 2024 gives England fans ‘goosebumps’

Euro 2024 is finally upon us and in case you aren't excited enough for the tournament, then the new Adidas advert for Euro 2024 will provide you with a huge dose of Euros fever.

England's warm-up matches for Euro 2024 have been fairly uninspiring and the mood among England fans has been fairly downbeat after the 1-0 defeat to Iceland last week.

There is a feeling that Gareth Southgate may have taken this group as far as he can, but given the talent within the Three Lions squad, there are still some fans dreaming of Euros glory.

The new Adidas advert for Euro 2024 plays on the emotions of England fans, taking them on a trip through memory lane. The advert depicts different groups of England fans watching moments of heartache from previous international tournaments.

Then, around 20 seconds in, the Beatles' track ‘Hey Jude' kicks in while legends from the past, including David Beckham and Frank Lampard, appear looking downbeat.

The advert makes the turn from despair to hope at around the halfway stage when video clips of Jude Bellingham playing football as a youngster appear.

Then, as the track becomes more upbeat, clips of England fans cheering and singing ‘Hey Jude' themselves appear before the advert finishes with a picture of Bellingham alongside the words ‘You got This'.

Although Phil Foden and Harry Kane have both had stellar seasons themselves, there is no doubt that Jude Bellingham is the poster boy for England at Euro 2024.

The advert, which is effectively all about pinning the nation's hopes on the 21-year-old, has got England fans pumped up for the Euros based on the reaction to it online.

One England fan posted on X: “Goosebumps. Can't wait. Don’t think you’re an expert, don’t talk tactics, don’t slag the manager off. Just support your country.”

Another said: “You’d usually say “don’t put so much pressure on a 20-year-old” but Bellingham’s just walked into the Bernabeu like he owns the place, and now he does. No problem. What a video.”

A third added: “Three minutes ago I couldn’t have fancied us less to win the Euros this summer. Now I’ve watched this and I’m already thinking about how good the open-top bus parade is going to be.”

There were others who speculated that Bellingham is being set up for failure. One fan said: “I swear to god if we bomb out of this tournament and the media come for Jude after this hype, I'm gonna be on the front line with my royal blue battleaxe.”
