Watch: Old Trafford erupts after FA Cup classic

On Sunday, 17 March, Man Utd and Liverpool played out one of the greatest FA Cup matches of all time at Old Trafford. In a match that swung one way and then the next, Man Utd eventually came out on top thanks to a dramatic last-minute winner in Extra Time from substitute, Amad Diallo.

The young winger, who was adored by Sunderland fans during his loan spell in the North East last season, hasn't had an easy season on his return to Manchester but finished with aplomb to send Old Trafford wild and to his team into the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

For those in attendance, the noise when Amad found the back of the net was deafening and a video published by the official FA Cup account on X has given those who watched at home a glimpse of just how electric the atmosphere was at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.

Old Trafford noise has fans purring

The timing of the goal was not only fitting of the match it was part of but also fitting on X. Just a day earlier, a Crystal Palace supporter had gone viral for stating that Coventry's last-gasp win at Wolves brought about a joy that Manchester United fans could never understand.

At the time, the post was met with confusion from the majority of football fans on X as Man Utd are famed for late winners. However, nobody could have expected the post to have aged as badly as it did as quickly as it did.

Responding to the video of the Stretford End going bananas after the late winner, one fan said: “Give whoever filmed this a promotion to executive because those limbs in the Stretford End are OUTRAGEOUS.” Another person said: “Will never ever get bored of watching this. Stretford End in all its glory.”

Paul Scholes' son also got in on the frenzy, using the video to have a dig at Man City and their manager. He posted: “This is what Guardiola is desperate for and will never get there.”
