Sunderland are back in the Premier League for the first time since the 2016/17 season, and a lot has changed in the top flight in their eight-year absence.
The PL fixture release has thrown up some new and exciting away clashes for Sunderland fans to look forward to this season, in addition to a return to some of their old favourite hunting grounds.
Here are the five stadiums that they will be relishing visiting the most during the 2025/26 season.

Best stadiums for Sunderland fans to visit in 2025/26
5) Vitality Stadium
While the Vitality Stadium is far from one of the best, biggest or loudest stadiums in the Premier League, it is one of significance for Sunderland fans as it is the stadium that is furthest away from the Stadium of Light, making it a bucket list away day in its own right.
A round trip from Sunderland to Bournemouth comes in at just shy of 600 miles, and the fixture has been pencilled in for 29 November, meaning there is every chance that the journey across the country won't be a pleasant one, either.
The size of the Vitality Stadium is a little bit of a novelty as well, particularly in a league where more than half of the stadiums will soon have a capacity of over 50,000. The Vitality Stadium has a capacity of just 11,739, so the away allocation for the Black Cats will be under 2,000.
4) Old Trafford
Manchester United may be a fading force on the pitch, but Old Trafford remains the biggest club ground in the country, and arguably the most iconic. Sunderland fans will be looking forward to visiting Old Trafford again, particularly as away teams now stand a decent chance of winning there.
Another reason why Old Trafford will become a ground that most fans will want to visit in the coming seasons is that Manchester United plan to knock it down by 2030. Earlier in the year, plans for a new 100,000-seater stadium next to the current stadium were unveiled, meaning fans across the world don't have long left to visit the famous old stadium.
Sunderland fans can expect an allocation of 3,000 when they visit Old Trafford on 4 October.
3) Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Sunderland fans haven't been short of London away days in the Championship, but they will be relishing the opportunity to visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The stadium first opened its doors in 2019 when Sunderland were still playing in League One, so it will feel like a momentous occasion for the fans to see their team in action at the new stadium, which many people regard as the best in the country.
The capacity of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is 62,850, and Sunderland fans can expect an allocation of at least 3,000 when they visit on 3 January.

2) Hill Dickinson Stadium
Another new stadium that Sunderland fans can look forward to visiting this season is the Hill Dickinson Stadium. This is Everton's new home and will be the number one stadium that every football fan in the country wants to visit this season.
Sunderland fans and Everton fans do have a friendly relationship, too, so the trip to Merseyside will be one free of any animosity.
The new stadium on Bramley-Moore Dock is said to be impressive and boasts a capacity of 52,888. Sunderland fans can expect an away allocation of around 3,000 when they visit on 1 November.
1) St James' Park
Unquestionably, the stadium that Sunderland fans will be most excited about visiting during the 2025/26 season is St James' Park. The Black Cats haven't faced their bitter rivals at St James' Park since March 2016 but they did enjoy some memorable away days at the stadium in their final few years in the Premier League.
In fact, Sunderland have won six of their last seven Premier League matches against the Magpies, but things are a little different now since the Saudi PIF takeover at Newcastle.
Sunderland will go into the match, which has been pencilled in for March 21, as rank outsiders, but that will only motivate their fans more to make their presence known.
