Plans to expand one of the Premier League’s smallest grounds have suffered another frustrating delay this week.
A crucial step in the process has now been pushed back, casting fresh doubt over the project's timeline.
Vitality Stadium meeting in May cancelled as Bournemouth face fresh delay
AFC Bournemouth have been dealt a further setback in their plans to redevelop the Vitality Stadium after a key planning meeting was cancelled.
The club had been targeting a BCP Council planning committee date on May 11th, but the local authority has now postponed the hearing after requesting additional information to support the application.
Bournemouth say they are working closely with the council to provide the required details and still hope the plans can be reviewed later in May, per The Echo.

The proposed expansion, which is estimated to cost around £90 million, has already faced delays, with initial ambitions scaled back.
While earlier plans aimed for a full new south stand and all four stadium corners to be completed by the 2026/27 season, only a partial stand and two corners are now expected by that stage.
Despite the setback, the club confirmed that enabling works will continue in the meantime as they look to keep the wider project moving forward.
FGG says: A frustrating setback for Bournemouth fans
This is another example of how complex stadium projects can quickly run into delays, even after plans appear to be progressing smoothly.
For Bournemouth, timing is crucial given the scale of the redevelopment and the need to maximise capacity and revenue in the long term.
While this setback is unlikely to derail the entire project, it does create further uncertainty around delivery timelines.
Ultimately, it highlights a common theme in modern football infrastructure that off-pitch progress can often be just as challenging as what happens on it.
