Southampton tell fans to ‘bring the noise’ ahead of play-off semi-final second leg

Southampton have encouraged their supporters to arrive early, be in the red and white club colours, and “bring the noise” ahead of Friday’s play-off semi-final second leg against West Bromwich Albion. The first leg was a 0-0 draw at the Hawthorns, and the Saints will be looking to move a step closer to an instant return to the Premier League.

Southampton fans encouraged to show up early for play-off semi-final

The Southampton team bus will arrive at St. Mary’s Stadium at 6:15pm, with food and drink available for a discounted price up until 7:15pm. External bars will open at 5pm, while food and drink in the concourses will open an hour and a half later. As well as this, the club said: “We want the players to walk out to a sea of red and white as they arrive, as well as in the stands, so we encourage supporters to wear their colours.

“Whether it’s a new shirt or an old shirt, we’d love to see the Saints red and white army out in full force to make the most of an important second-leg home advantage.”

Head-to-head record

Russell Martin’s team are unbeaten against the Baggies this season, conceding only one goal in three matches. This includes a 2-1 back in November, thanks to Will Smallbone and Adam Armstrong. Southampton have only ever been in the play-offs once, when they lost to Derby County in the Championship semi-final in 2007.
