West Ham striker Michail Antonio has described Arsenal fans as “delusional” in the latest episode of ‘The Players Channel’ podcast on BBC 5 Live Sport.
Antonio was asked about the form of the Gunners, who sit at the top of the Premier League and play Bayern Munich in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League in March.
🚨🎙️| Michail Antonio:
“Arsenal fans… they annoy me. I'm talking about my agent, my family and my friends. Because as soon as they are tiptoeing close to anything, they're ‘the best team in the world'…it's actually unbelievable how delusional these people are.” pic.twitter.com/0rKzDGrfhz

‘Arsenal fans annoy me’ – West Ham striker goes on Arsenal rant
Joined by Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney on the popular podcast, Antonio unleashed the following rant about Arsenal fans, “Arsenal fans…they annoy me. I’m talking about my agent, my family and my friends.
“Because as soon as they are tiptoeing close to anything, they’re ‘the best team in the world’ – it’s actually unbelievable how delusional these people are.
“Last year, when we beat Arsenal, they were top of the league…my agent I’ve been with since I was 19, called me up and called me a wasteman! He was like ‘why did you have to do this to me? It’s been so many years!”

Arsenal fans respond
Arsenal fans were quick to respond to Antonio’s comments on X.com. One Arsenal fan said, “To be fair, name a more in-form team at the moment? Probably Leverkusen? Meanwhile, @marcclambert10 said, “Last year we won 3-1 and drew 2-2, what’s he even on about?”

Mikel Arteta’s side play Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium next on Sunday, March 31, in what looks set to be a decisive match in the title run-in.
It may even help to decide if Antonio was right or not.
