Wrexham have given supporters their clearest look yet at the progress being made on the new Kop Stand, with official drone footage showcasing the scale of the club's ambitious Racecourse Ground redevelopment.

The latest images highlight just how quickly the project is transforming Wales' oldest international football stadium.

Official footage shows huge progress on new Kop Stand

Drone footage released by Wrexham shows the steel framework of the new Kop Stand now rising prominently above the existing stadium, with the structure beginning to dominate the Racecourse Ground skyline.

The club shared the update on social media alongside the message: “Progress continues on the Kop Stand.”

The new stand is expected to hold around 7,750 supporters once completed and forms the centrepiece of a wider £70 million redevelopment project designed to increase the stadium's capacity beyond 18,000.

Construction began in 2025, and co-chairman Rob McElhenney has confirmed the stand is on course to welcome supporters for the start of the 2027/28 season.

Designed by Populous, the two-tier stand will feature safe-standing areas, hospitality facilities and accessible seating, while also incorporating several nods to local history, including the Gresford Colliery memorial wheel and a planned statue of club legend Joey Jones.

The wider Racecourse Ground transformation is also expected to help move the stadium towards UEFA Category 4 status, potentially opening the door to major international fixtures in the future.

FGG says: Wrexham stadium vision is becoming a reality

For Wrexham supporters, this latest footage offers perhaps the strongest visual evidence yet of just how transformative the Kop redevelopment will be.

Seeing the steel structure now towering above the stadium makes the project feel far more tangible than drawings and plans ever could. What was once a long-term vision is increasingly taking shape in front of supporters' eyes.

With the outline of the stand now clearly visible, every update feels like another step closer to Wrexham's stadium dream becoming a reality.
