Jean-Clair Todibo was hot property when he was at Nice, but it was ultimately West Ham that managed to sign the player in the summer of 2024.

On the face of it, Todibo has all the attributes you would want in a defender. He is tall, fast, strong and capable on the ball, and if West Ham end up going down this season, he will be hot property once again.

For now, though, the West Ham fans get to watch him week in, week out and they have created a chant for him.

For all the most important information on this West Ham chant, including the lyrics and story behind it, keep reading.

Jean-Clair Todibo chant, lyrics and tune

The Jean-Clair Todibo chant is sung to the tune of ‘Tequila’ by The Champs. It is the same tune that Arsenal fans use for their William Saliba chant. The lyrics are as follows:

Do do do do do do do do,

Do do do do do do do,

Do do do do do do do do,

Do do do do do do do,

Todibo!

There is no getting away from it – West Ham fans have nicked this from Arsenal supporters, who received widespread praise when they first started singing the Saliba chant to the same tune in 2022.

The West Ham Todibo version was first heard in a match between Crystal Palace and West Ham at Selhurst Park in August 2024 – match the player didn’t even play in.

In fairness to West Ham supporters, it isn’t the one of the most commonly heard West Ham chant, which indicates that a large part of the fanbase perhaps aren’t keen on taking songs from a London rival.

FGG says: Have some shame

We all know that football fans take chants from elsewhere in the modern game, but to do it as blatantly as this from a London rival certainly crosses a line. Do better, West Ham fans!
