Andy Robertson enjoyed nine successful years with Liverpool, winning every trophy at the highest level of club football and becoming both a fan-favourite and club legend at Anfield.
However, the Flying Scotsman has now joined fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer after his contract expired at the end of the 2025-26 season, and fans of the Lilywhites are set to adopt the Andy Robertson chant.
Arriving from relegated Hull City for just £8m in the summer of 2017, the defender was a force to be reckoned with going forward for the Reds, and became the left-back with the most assists in Premier League history under Jurgen Klopp.
Now, at 32-years-old and beyond his peak, Robertson will be hoping to help Roberto De Zerbi's Spurs climb back up the table after their relegation battle, and the Scottish icon's hard-working nature will certainly endear him to his new home crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Here, Football Ground Guide covers all you need to know about the Andy Robertson chant, including its lyrics, tune and origin.
Andy Robertson chant, lyrics and tune
The Andy Robertson chant is sung to a popular football chant tune that is used by many clubs. You will now know what we mean when you watch the video below. For now, though, here are the lyrics:
Oh, Andy, Andy
Andy, Andy, Andy, Andy, Roberston!
Oh, Andy, Andy
Andy, Andy, Andy, Andy, Roberston!
Andy Robertson chant background
The Andy Robertson chant is fitting for the player – it is understated but does the job well. While Liverpool fans aren't going to win any prizes for this chant, it was often one of the loudest sung at Anfield due to its simplicity.
Both Scotland and Liverpool fans dabbled with the idea of a Robertson chant to the tune of ‘Belter' by Gerry Cinnamon, but both sets of supporters ultimately always came back to the Andy, Andy, Andy, Andy Robertson effort.
One of the loudest renditions of this Liverpool chant came during the 2025/26 season: it was sung loud and proud by Liverpool fans during a match against Real Madrid, shortly after Trent Alexander-Arnold came onto the field. It was a message to the former Reds player of what he could have had, had he not left the club for Los Blancos.

FGG says: A ‘belter' in its own right
A Gerry Cinnamon ‘Belter' chant for Andy Robertson always felt inevitable, and while that could have been brilliant if done correctly, I don't think it's a bad thing at all that Liverpool fans settled on this chant for the full-back. It's very easy to learn, get the crowd going and will certainly be appreciated by the player.
