While Adam Wharton has been the subject of huge praise in the Crystal Palace midfield over the past couple of years, he isn't the only man in the Palace engine room who has impressed.
Daichi Kamada, a player who was signed on a free transfer back in the summer of 2024, has proven to be a shrewd acquisition by the Eagles and has complemented Wharton nicely in the middle of the park.
While his performances may have gone slightly under the radar away from Selhurst Park, Palace supporters are well aware of his value to the squad. As a result, it should come as no surprise to learn that he has his very own Crystal Palace chant.
For all the most important information on the Daichi Kamada chant, we have you covered below.
Daichi Kamada chant, lyrics and tune
The Daichi Kamada chant is sung to a popular football chant tune that is often used with the lyrics ‘follow, follow, follow'. The full lyrics to the Kamada chant are as follows:
Follow, follow, follow,
Daichi Kamada is running the show,
He comes from Japan,
He plays like Zidane,
And he cost us f***ing zero
Daichi Kamada chant background
Crystal Palace fans realised that they had a top player on their hands during the player's debut season with the club in 2024/25, but this football chant wasn't created until the early months of the 2025/26 season.
The midfielder's performances went to a new level during the early stages of his second season with the club, hence the lyrics ‘Daichi Kamada is running the show'.
As seems to be customary in chants for midfielders, there is a Zidane reference, too. In case it wasn't obvious, the Crystal Palace fans don't actually think that Kamada is on Zidane's level, but it does at least illustrate how well he is thought of at Selhurst Park.

FGG says: Fans love a free transfer
If you sign for a club on a free transfer, then you can bet your house on your new supporters including a reference to your lack of transfer fee in whatever chant they create for you. Signing on a free can also remove any price tag pressure, which has undoubtedly helped Kamada at Selhurst Park.
