Jordan Pickford has been a mainstay between the sticks at Everton ever since signing for the club from Sunderland back in 2017.

After recently signing a new long-term deal at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Pickford has committed to continuing his career with the Toffees, in a rare show of loyalty in the modern game.

Although he has dropped the odd clanger over the years, Pickford has always had a good relationship with Everton supporters, especially with the goalkeeper playing a key role in their survival in the Premier League in recent years.

Although it has taken a while, Everton fans have finally honoured Pickford's heroics with his own chant, heard numerous times throughout the beginning of the 2025/26 season.

For more information on the Pickford chant, including the lyrics and tune, keep reading.

Jordan Pickford chant lyrics and tune

The Jordan Pickford chant is sung to the tune of several other popular football chants, including the Wayne Rooney White Pele chant The lyrics are as follows:

He's a Mackem, he's a blue,

He's a Toffee through and through,

He hates Newcastle, he hates the sh*te,

Jordan Pickford is Dynamite

The first airing of the Jordan Pickford chant came around the same time that it was announced that he was set to commit his long-term future to Everton.

Considering he is England's number one goalkeeper, and has been for nearly a decade, there would be plenty of potential suitors for him, so his commitment to Everton is admirable and clearly appreciated by the club's supporters.

The song refers to Pickford's proud North East heritage. He grew up in Sunderland and lived his dream by playing first-team football for the Black Cats. The chant also refers to his adopted state of being an honorary Everton fan, and his hatred for Liverpool (or the sh*te in this case).

Whilst the chant brings together supporters of both Sunderland and Everton, the two clubs were pitted against each other for the first time since September 2017 earlier in the 2025-26 campaign, when the Merseyside outfit made the trip to the Stadium of Light.

In a weird moment, Pickford was forced to line up against his boyhood club at the Stadium of Light, with the England international making 35 appearances for the Black Cats before securing a move to Goodison Park in June 2017.

The shot-stopper was unable to keep a clean sheet on his return to Sunderland, though, with Granit Xhaka equalising for the hosts in the Premier League match following an early opener from magical winger Iliman Ndiaye.

Everton and Sunderland clash once again during the penultimate round of the season, with the North-East side scheduled to make their first-ever league trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on May 17.

FGG says: A long time coming

Jordan Pickford has been a consistent top performer for Everton in recent seasons, especially during the years of battling for their survival, and his commitment to stay the club during their difficult years is certainly admirable.

As a result, the goalkeeper has undeniably deserved his own Everton chant for a long while now, so it is great to see the club's supporters finally giving him one – and a good one at that.

Now that the England shot stopper has committed himself to stay at the Hill Dickinson until 2029, expect this song to grow even more in popularity in the coming months and years.
