Despite being a Manchester United player for more than a decade, Luke Shaw is far from universally loved by the club's supporters.
Throughout his time at the club, his form has peaked and dipped on countless occasions, while his injury record has left many fans frustrated. There are also accusations that he prioritises international football over his club duties.
Regardless of that, there is an acceptance that the leg break he suffered while still a teenager has had an impact on him as a player, and there is, of course, sympathy for the player in that regard.
While a Luke Shaw chant has never quite made it to the stands at Old Trafford, there is a popular one that is often sung in pubs around the stadium before matches.
Luke Shaw chant, lyrics and tune
The Luke Shaw chant is sung to the tune of ‘Ring of Fire' by Johnny Cash. The lyrics are as follows:
Jose said that Shaw was s***e,
Du, du, du, du, du, du, du ,du
Now he's f***ing dynamite
Du, du, du, du, du, du, du, du
Tearing down the left-hand side
Du, du, du, du, du, du, du, du
See the Stretford End arise
Du, du, du, du, du, du, du, du
Luke Shaw chant background
This Man Utd chant starts off with a reference to one of the hardest periods of Shaw's career, back when Jose Mourinho was the club's manager.
To say that Mourinho didn't rate the player would be an understatement, with the Portuguese refusing to credit the player even when he played well.
It also mentions the attribute that Shaw was most famous for during his pomp – bombing down the left flank to support Marcus Rashford in a partnership that often worked well for the Red Devils.
Unfortunately, these days, the player's legs don't allow him to make such movements as frequently as he once did or at the same speed.

FGG says: A chant that has been and gone
Luke Shaw's form did go through the roof for a period under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, shortly after the United legend replaced Mourinho in the Old Trafford dugout. However, a lot has happened since then, and it's highly unlikely we will ever hear this football chant again.
