Aston Villa are reportedly set to freeze ticket prices for the 2027/28 season after increasing them for the fifth consecutive year ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Over the last two years, match ticket and season ticket prices have increased by 10%, with the club seemingly capitalising on the on-field success being enjoyed by Unai Emery and his team.
The increase this season was lambasted by supporters, who feel that the extra revenue generated from the Champions League should offset any increase in running costs.
It appears that the club have taken feedback on board, though, with the North Stand central to plans to freeze prices across the stadium for the 2027/28 campaign.
North Stand expansion to help Villa supporters
According to the Birmingham Mail, Villa will be able to freeze ticket prices for supporters in 2027 because the North Stand expansion will reportedly be completed in time for the start of the 27/28 season.
When completed, the stadium will have a capacity of over 50,000, but in order to get to that point, they are having to close the stand this season, bringing the capacity temporarily down to 37,000.

This is the reason being given to supporters for the price increases this season, which have seen some season ticket prices reach £997.50. There will reportedly also be only 3,600 tickets available for purchase on a match-by-match basis this season.
The work on the North Stand is being undertaken with Euro 2028 in mind. Villa Park has been selected as one of the host stadiums for the tournament, which is being held across the United Kingdom. A bigger Villa Park also reduces the chances of the club ever moving away from their rightful home, which will be music to Villa fans' ears.
FGG says: A convenient excuse
There is no doubt that a reduction in capacity next season will have an impact on what Aston Villa will make on matchdays, but the Champions League money will offset this. It's a shame that years of loyal support off the pitch is now being exploited during a purple patch on it.
