All 24 League One teams were in action this week, with all the games played on Friday, 18 April 2025. However, with the 2024/25 season ending in the first week of May, turnout for the poorly performing teams has been unimpressive.
Birmingham remain top of the table despite suffering a minor setback in their promotion quest following a goalless draw at home against Crawley. Still, the Blues registered a higher supporter turnout of more than 27,000, which is at least 2,000 more fans than their last home assignment.
Birmingham have two games in hand and with a 12-point lead at the top, Blues are more confident than ever to earn a promotion to the Championship at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Wycombe Wanderers extended their match-winning streak to three games, all of which have been clean sheets. However, with just a point lead over third-placed Wrexham, the Chairboys remain under pressure to get automatic promotion.
Wrexham's back-to-back draws and three such outcomes for the Red Dragons in the last four assignments should, however, ease pressure on Wycombe. The Chairboys will host Charlton on 21 April.
At the other end of the League One table, Shrewsbury, Crawley, Cambridge and Bristol Rovers are doing their best to avoid the drop. However, bottom-ranked Shrewsbury look bound for relegation after a 14-match winless run. Bristol Rovers will host Stevenage on 21 April, so we expect more supporters at the Memorial Stadium.
Let's examine the average attendance across the division, highlighting which stadium has seen the biggest turnout so far this season.

Highest-ever League One attendance
The highest attendance at a League One match came on Boxing Day in 2018. Sunderland hosted Bradford City at the Stadium of Light, with 46,039 fans at the ground. Aiden McGeady scored the only goal of the game, and this attendance figure is yet to be beaten in the third tier of English football.
