Sheffield is a city split in two between those who follow Sheffield United and those who follow Sheffield Wednesday. While the city comes alive on Steel City derby day, it is still football-mad the rest of the year which means a subscription to Sky and TNT is a necessity for most pubs in the city centre.
The guide below will run through the best seven pubs in Sheffield to watch football this season.
Best Pubs to watch football in Sheffield: Seven of the best
Champs Sports Bar
Champs Sports Bar on Eccleshall Road is one of the most popular spots in Sheffield for watching live football. It is a large venue that serves beer, cocktails and food making it the ideal spot for a Super Sunday with back-to-back fixtures.
255 Ecclesall Road, Sharrow, Sheffield, S11 8NX
The Clubhouse
The Clubhouse is a large two-storey bar on London Road that caters for everyone. The downstairs is a sports bar with multiple TV's while upstairs, visitors can participate in a variety of games such as darts, pool, mini golf and shuffleboard.
13 London Rd, Highfield, Sheffield S2 4LA
The Stack Lounge
The Stack Lounge is a smaller sports bar and a little bit of a throwback to when bars didn't need to be all-singing, all-dancing. The quirky decor is a highlight and it is one of the most chilled places in the city to sit back and watch live football.
125-129 London Rd, Highfield, Sheffield S2 4LE
The Wildcard Bar and Grill
The Wildcard Bar and Grill is a premium/luxury sports bar located on Eccleshall Road. At the forefront of this venue is a huge jumbotron screen which means it's impossible to not have a view of the action regardless of where you are sat. The food menu here is also a highlight.

The Common Room
The Common Room sells itself as Sheffield's ‘original' sports bar and despite its age, it is still one of the most popular bars in the city for watching football. There are over 50 screens dotted around the two-storey venue which also houses an American Pool room.
1st floor, 127 Devonshire St, Sheffield City Centre, Sheffield S3 7SB
The Shakey
The Shakey is an old-school pub in the Hillsborough area of the city making it a particularly popular spot with Sheffield Wednesday fans. There isn't anything particularly special about this place on the face of it but it does what it needs to do and does it well.
196 Bradfield Rd, Hillsborough, Sheffield S6 2BY
The Cavendish
The Cavendish is the self-proclaimed ‘best pub in Sheffield' and they've certainly done all they can to cater for every type of person. Sports lovers will be able to watch live football on one of their many screens while craft ale drinkers and foodies will also enjoy it here.
