Dundee FC say their long-awaited plans for a new stadium have reached a pivotal stage after almost two years of discussions.
The club insist they have completed every requirement and are now awaiting a decision from the local council.
Dundee chief gives update on Camperdown Park proposal
Dundee managing director John Nelms has confirmed the club has submitted all the required documentation for its proposed new 12,500-seat stadium at Camperdown Park.
The planning application, first submitted in principle in February 2024, has been through an extensive consultation process involving a range of stakeholders over the past two years.
In a club statement, via the BBC, Dundee said its consultants had worked to ensure the application was as robust as possible and that they now believe every requirement has been met ahead of a committee hearing.
The club thanked supporters for their patience during what it described as a protracted planning process and reiterated its belief that the Camperdown Stadium Project would transform Dundee's future both on and off the pitch, as they move away from their current home, Dens Park.
Nelms said the club had done “everything asked of us and more” while respecting the planning process, adding that the project's future now rests with Dundee City Council's elected representatives.
If approved, the proposed £3.5 million stadium would become Dundee's new home and play a key role in the wider regeneration of the local area through new social, leisure and economic opportunities.
