Neutrals and those able to view Euro 2024 from an impartial perspective would likely come to the conclusion that the Dutch fans have been the best supporters of the entire tournament.
Their march through Hamburg, their singing and dancing in Leipzig – they have truly been an asset to Euro 2024 throughout their time in Germany.
Now, their presence in Dortmund could blow their previous efforts out of the water.

We tend to view the world through the lens of our own existence, and as football fans, we often believe that we are the most passionate in the world. However, Netherlands supporters are, at the very least, our equal – and in many cases, are superior when it comes to cheering on their side.
After conversing with various authorities, the Dutch Football Association have stated that they expect approximately 80,000 Oranje supporters to make the journey to Dortmund ahead of their semi-final clash with England on Wednesday, July 10.
As usual, Three Lions fans are expected to travel well for the fixture too, with thousands of Brits expected in the city come matchday. However, it appears as though there is a very real possibility of the Dutch outnumbering them in Dortmund.
Fans continue to be the Netherlands' twelfth man
Throughout Euro 2024, much has been made of the impact Dutch fans have had on their side and the way in which that support has helped Ronal Koeman's players grind out results when they've needed it most.
That was again the case in their quarter-final victory over Turkey, after which defender, and goalscorer in that match, Stefan de Vrij, said: “The fans are very important to us. It is really nice to see the Orange wall in the stadium.”
With Borussia Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park the venue for the tie, perhaps we may just see the club's iconic ‘Yellow Wall' look a little more orange than usual on matchday.
