Eddie Howe was left touched by a powerful show of support from Newcastle United fans ahead of their latest European outing.
Supporters made their feelings clear before kick-off, underlining the strong bond between the manager and the St James’ Park faithful.
Newcastle fans unveil huge Eddie Howe tifo before Qarabag clash
Before Newcastle's second-leg Champions League play-off clash with Qarabag, fans inside St James’ Park unveiled a striking tifo dedicated to Eddie Howe.
The banner, which covered a large section of the stand, celebrated the manager’s impact and leadership since taking charge.
Speaking to Amazon Prime after the match, Howe admitted he initially missed the moment.
“I actually didn’t see it,” he said when asked by presenter Gabby Logan.
Once shown footage of the tifo, the Magpies boss was clearly moved by the gesture. “That’s very nice, isn’t it? Not a bad angle of me either, so I’ll take it. There are worse angles than that,” Howe joked.
“It means an incredible amount. Amazing. A big thank you to everyone who thought of that idea, and it’s much appreciated. The love that supporters give me and the team means everything.”
The display came at a time when Newcastle have faced some inconsistency this season, with performances fluctuating across competitions.

FGG says: Newcastle fans are making their feelings about Eddie Howe clear
Despite all that, the fans’ message was very clear – that Howe is their man.
Even with mixed results throughout the season, as the Magpies find themselves sat 11th in the Premier League, supporters have clearly recognised and appreciated the progress made under the Englishman.
In an era where patience is often in short supply, this level of backing could prove vital as Newcastle look to regain momentum and finish the season strongly.
