Fresh footage shows fans cheekily turning Norway's famous Viking Row celebration back on their opponents following the final whistle in Miami.

England fans tell Norway to row back home after dumping them out of World Cup

England fans celebrated Saturday's World Cup quarter-final victory over Norway by hilariously mocking their opponents' now-famous Viking Row celebration.

Footage shared on social media shows jubilant Three Lions supporters pretending to row, while around the stadium there were chants of: “There will be no f***ing rowing in New York.”

It was a playful twist on Norway's iconic post-match celebrations, which have become one of the stories of the tournament after players and supporters performed the Viking Row together following victories earlier in the knockout stages.

Instead, it was England who booked their place in the World Cup semi-finals, leaving Norway's dream run at the tournament at an end.

The light-hearted taunt quickly spread across social media, with fans seeing the funny side as England celebrated another famous victory on their road to the final four.

FGG says: England and Norway fans showed what football rivalry should be

This is exactly the sort of football banter that makes major tournaments so special.

Norway's Viking Row became one of the defining celebrations of the World Cup, so it was only natural that England fans would find a tongue-in-cheek way to reference it after victory.

It was all light-hearted, good-natured fun and a reminder that, at its best, international football is about creating memories and sharing moments that supporters from both nations will be talking about long after the tournament ends.
