Poland-Austria with highest attendance figure in Euro 2024 group stage

The attendance figures for the Euro 2024 group stages have been released. Eight teams exited the competition at this stage, with the knockout stage now in full flow. Here are the statistics for the crowd numbers in all six groups.

Stadiums over 98% full in Germany group

The hosts, Germany, were in Group A, along with Scotland, Switzerland, and Hungary. Germany’s opening game against Scotland at the Allianz Arena saw over 65,000 fans attend, which is the highest figure at this stadium in the tournament so far. For the six games that were played in Group A, 304,124 fans were inside the venues for all the matches.

Meanwhile, in Group B, there were over 310,000 tickets sold for all the games. This includes the match between Albania and Spain, which saw the stadium filled by over 99% as 46,586 people packed into the Düsseldorf Arena. The capacity of this venue is 47,000.

Group C the most popular

Although it was the most boring group as five of the six games were drawn, Group C sold the most tickets, with over 340,000 fans attending the matches. Two clashes were held in Munich, with both seeing over 60,000 spectators at the venue.

Three of the four teams went through in this group with only seven goals scored in the six games. England’s dramatic extra-time victory against Slovakia on Sunday evening suggests that the knockout stages will be much more exciting.

Highest attendance for Euro 2024 group stages

The match between Poland and Austria at the Olympiastadion in Berlin saw 69,455 fans attend. This was the highest in the Euro 2024 group stages. Olympiastadion will host this year’s final on Sunday, July 14.  At every match in Group D, over 96% of the stadium was full, with just over 330,000 tickets sold overall.

Group E and F attendance figures

Every game in Group E saw over 42,000 fans inside the stadium. This included the two matches at the Frankfurt Arena. One of these was Slovakia’s shock 1-0 victory against Belgium. Overall, 292,250 tickets were sold for Group E matches.

The game between Georgia and Czechia in Group F saw the stadium less than 95% full, which was the smallest figure in the group stage. Just under 300,000 tickets were sold for the matches involving Portugal, Turkey, Georgia, and Czechia. Portugal won the group with six points, while Georgia won their first match at a major tournament.
