After the once-in-a-lifetime success the team have achieved this campaign, all fans of the club, providing they are old enough, will have access to a free Bayer Leverkusen tattoo to celebrate.
In a statement released by the club, they said: “Bayer 04 are offering fans, until the end of the season, the opportunity to choose one of the many Bayer 04 tattoos for free.
“Book your appointment now to eternalise this unique season on your skin.”
Before describing the gesture as a “special action at the end of a special season.”
It is incredibly difficult to argue with that statement. Without a doubt, it is one of, if not the most spectacular seasons from a side in recent history and will forever be etched into the memory of every Leverkusen supporter who had the privilege to witness it first-hand.
A record-breaking season
The more you explore their season, the more impressive it gets. Not only have Alonso's side broken Bayern Munich's stronghold on the Bundesliga title at long last, but they have also been able to replicate their domestic form in Europe too.
They are now unbeaten in 49 matches across all competitions. As well as providing them with an opportunity to win the treble, that unbeaten run has also seen them set a new European record.
At the risk of potentially dampening their success this campaign, it will now be interesting to see if the side are able to achieve similar levels in the upcoming season. If they were, for example, to win the Bundesliga again, it would transform the way in which Leverkusen are viewed across the continent even further.
