Everton's new Hill Dickinson Stadium is preparing for another landmark occasion as it gets ready to host one of rugby league's biggest annual events.
The waterfront venue is expected to welcome a record-breaking crowd this weekend as its growing reputation as a multi-purpose stadium continues.
Hill Dickinson Stadium set to make history as it prepares to host Magic Weekend
Hill Dickinson Stadium will host Rugby League's Magic Weekend for the first time this weekend, with more than 70,000 tickets already sold.
The figure surpasses the previous Magic Weekend attendance record of 68,276, set at St James' Park, home of top-flight rivals Newcastle United, in 2016.
The two-day festival will feature all six Super League fixtures, including derby clashes between Hull KR and Hull FC, Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos, and Wigan Warriors against St Helens.
Everton chief revenue officer Aaron Duckmanton believes the occasion represents another significant milestone in the stadium's development.

“Excitement is really building as Hill Dickinson Stadium prepares to welcome Magic WKND for the first time,” he told local press.
“The response for this event has been outstanding, with ticket sales showing just how much demand there is and how strongly the city, Everton and rugby league fans have embraced Magic WKND.”
Duckmanton added that Everton always intended for Hill Dickinson Stadium to become a venue capable of attracting major sporting and entertainment events beyond football.
“From the very beginning, our ambition for Hill Dickinson Stadium has been to create a world-class venue capable of hosting major events that bring people to the city, showcase our waterfront and support the club's long-term growth.”
The stadium previously hosted an Ashes rugby league Test, with Everton now hoping Magic Weekend becomes another successful addition to its growing events calendar.
FGG says: Another important milestone for Everton's home
This is exactly why Everton built Hill Dickinson Stadium.
While it will always be home to the Toffees, attracting record-breaking sporting events throughout the year is central to the venue's long-term vision.
Magic Weekend is another significant milestone and further proof that the stadium is establishing itself as one of the UK's premier multi-purpose sporting venues.
