Everton are set to hit a major milestone when the Hill Dickinson Stadium hosts the 2026 Magic Weekend in July.

A deal was agreed to bring the Rugby Super League's Magic Weekend to Everton's new stadium following a hugely impressive showing at the venue in the Ashes last autumn.

Everton, who beat the likes of Newcastle United to host the event, already smashed a record in ticket sales, with it reported that over 10,000 tickets to Magic Weekend were sold within a matter of hours of being released.

Now, with three months still to go until the event that will see six games held across the Saturday and Sunday in July, another Magic Weekend record has reportedly been broken.

A new Magic Weekend attendance record looks set to be broken at the Hill Dickinson later this year, with over 70,000 tickets reportedly already sold.

The previous Magic Weekend record was set a decade ago in 2016, when 68,276 people attended the two-day event at Newcastle United's St James' Park.

With three months still to go until the Magic Weekend at Hill Dickinson, there are hopes that the ticket sales for the event could climb even higher to as much as 80,000, extending the new record even further.

FGG Says: More positive news for Everton's new stadium

Everton's new stadium has already helped change the club's finances, with several events, alongside the standard football season, generating huge revenue for the Toffees.

After the success of previous events at the Hill Dickinson, such as the Ashes in autumn, the ownership group will be hoping the venue impresses during the Magic Weekend, especially with reports that the club are interested in securing future bookings off the back of the event.
