The UEFA Champions League has firmly established itself as the biggest competition in club football over the past 50 years, and a direct result of that is that tickets are hard to come by for matches in the competition.
This is more evident than ever when the competition reaches the knockout stages, when the stakes are raised and a place in the Champions League final at the end of the season is in sight.
If you want to know how to get Champions League tickets, our guide below has you covered.

How to get Champions League tickets – top methods
Purchase through competing clubs
The vast majority of Champions League tickets are sold through the competing clubs in each fixture. For example, Arsenal vs PSG tickets in the Champions League semi-finals are sold through Arsenal and PSG.
In order to be successful when buying tickets through competing clubs, fans will more often than not need to have either a season ticket or membership with the club they are buying tickets from. Some league phase matches or ‘smaller' fixtures may go to general sale, but given how popular the Champions League is, this is rare.
One way to bypass the need for a membership is to buy hospitality tickets for UFEA matches. At almost every club in Europe, fans aren't required to have a membership in order to buy these types of tickets, but it is going to cost you, as hospitality packages are often very expensive.
Purchase through UEFA
While you aren't able to purchase Champions League tickets through UEFA for every round in the competition, the governing body does hold a significant portion of tickets for the final each year.
In order to get tickets through UEFA, fans are usually required to register for a ballot. This ballot is then undertaken in the months leading up to the final, and successful applicants are notified. These fans are then able to either purchase tickets for the final through the UEFA ticket portal or decline the option.
Ticket resale websites
One popular way of getting your hands on Champions League tickets is through third-party ticket resale websites. These platforms aren't official UEFA vendors, so there is absolutely a risk of being scammed, but if you can verify the website you are buying from, then this is a viable way of getting tickets.
Unfortunately, in addition to the possibility of ticket scams, prices on these websites are often through the roof, particularly for knockout stage matches. In essence, it is like the modern-day version of buying tickets from a tout outside the ground.
